The 2011 Dodge Caliber hatchback comes with a standard 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that makes 158 horsepower. It's connected to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or an optional continuously-variable transmission. The other engine available is a 2.4L 4-cylinder that makes 172 horsepower, which comes standard on the Rush and optional on the Uptown.

Standard safety equipment for 2011 includes seat-mounted side air bags, first- and second-row side-curtain air bags, anti-lock brakes, brake assist and traction control, driver and front-passenger active head restraints and tire pressure monitoring.

The base Express comes well equipped, with an MP3/CD stereo, one year of satellite radio, power windows and door locks, keyless entry and cruise control. The Mainstreet adds a standard CVT transmission, touring suspension, 17-inch aluminum wheels, fog lamps, a power-adjustable driver's seat and stability control. The Heat includes sport suspension, 18-inch alloys and a sporty body kit.

The Rush includes the 2.4L 4-cylinder engine and either a 5-speed manual or CVT. 18-inch chrome wheels are standard as are a rear spoiler, a touch-screen equipped media center stereo with 30GB hard drive, Boston Acoustics speakers, heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and automatic climate control. The top-of-the-line Uptown offers the 2.0L engine, upgradeable to a 2.4L.
